Sun ahead

Wow, it's been a while...  I have not had much of a chance for crafting lately, but I was tired of missing out on all the fun, so I got myself organised and caught up with Paper Smooches SPARKS for the Designer Drafts Challenge.  As usual I ended up browsing the Paper Smooches Stamps new releases and I have bunch of stamps and dies in my cart now!

I turned the draft sideways and here's what I created...

For the background panel I used the cloud and lightning images from Paper Smooches Spreading Sunshine and one cloud from the Spectrum stamp set.  I stamped the clouds in Memento and coloured the outlines with Copics.  I stamped the lightning with Hero Arts Butterbar Shadow Ink.
I created a strip of blue cardstock to match the background with some streaky Distress Stain in Tumbled Glass.  I adhered the strip to my card base and popped up the stamped background panel on top with some foam tape.
For the tag I created a watercolour ink smooshing background with Distress inks in Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade.  Once dried I used the Paper Smooches Tag Scallop die and then stamped my sentiment from Spreading Sunshine in black Versafine.  I added a few iridescent sequins and some black hemp twine and attached to my card using double sided tape and foam tape along the bottom only.

I thought the background was kind of fun, and then a real contrast with the bright oranges and yellows of the tag.  I love these sentiments from the Spreading Sunshine set, so positive and uplifting.

That's all for now, but hopefully I will find more time for card making this week.
Thanks for checking out my card!
